Oliver works in substitution ciphers, the puzzle type at the heart of every Cryptogram level. His method leans on frequency analysis - reading a puzzle by how often each symbol appears - together with word-pattern matching and common letter pairings. Each level is solved by hand rather than pulled from another site, so the decoded quote you read here is the quote the game actually rewards, right up to the toughest expert-tier levels.

Beyond decoding, Oliver verifies the attribution of every quote. Cryptogram levels feature lines from historical figures, authors, and public figures, and quote databases frequently credit the wrong person. Oliver checks each decoded quote against its original source and corrects any misattribution, so readers get the right author alongside the right answer.
